Jessica Stricker, tLMHC

Jessica Stricker graduated from Upper Iowa University in 2025 with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology. She is a temporary Licensed Mental Health Counselor (t-LMHC) and is supervised by Dr. Michelle Takes, PhD, LMHC, ADHD-CCSP, ACS. Before pursuing her career as a mental health counselor, Jessica graduated from Kirkwood Community College as a Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN). After completing her nursing training, she decided to shift her focus back to raising her four children. In 2021, she felt drawn back to the helping profession and found her interest in helping others extended beyond a person’s physical wellbeing, leading her to pursue a degree that would allow her to help others optimize their mental wellbeing.

Jessica enjoys working with teens, adults, couples, and has training and experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting skills, sexuality, and is LGBTQ+ affirming. Jessica's approach includes using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and has received training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), sports psychology, and sexology.

Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband of 23 years and their four children. Jessica volunteers at her kids’ schools and sports events, enjoys shopping, and is an avid reader who loves a wide range of genres and authors. Jessica believes that our life experiences shape us without defining who we become; they are just parts of our journey. Everyone deserves to pursue their own goals and define their own ideas of success. Sometimes, these experiences create obstacles, but overcoming them is like road construction—difficult at the time, but it leads to a smoother path ahead.
